Chapter XVII: Journey through Darkness

After a short delay today (apparently the Navy had some stuff going on) we were off on our new adventure. It is dark outside now but when we wake up we will be very near our first destination, Nihoa. It appears that our trip is starting up where we left off as we have a big south swell escorting us up to the island.

The beach we need to get to is in a southward facing bay so anything rolling in from that direction makes the landing very treacherous. The winds at least seem to be cooperating so we have that going for us.

We are all prepping for the best and are ready to go if we get the chance.

So much work to be done in such a short time. No doubt our team (Tenaya, Bob, Chad, Erin, Mark and me) are up to it. Hopefully, I will have some good news for you all tomorrow.

Shout out to all the great people from the last cruise...wish you guys were here..I miss my band.
